I used to think that all post offices were, well, horrors when it came to being customer-centric. Not all, but Campton is still holding out. For the convenience of their employees, on Saturdays they open their customer service window at 9:30! Even though their employees are already there, I can hear them having a good time behind the wall.
To say I'm mad at the Campton post office right now would be a severe understatement. Not only did they shove this (clearly marked with "do no bend") package into my mailbox, they managed to damage the contents. It's an artist print, and can't be duplicated. This is the 4th-5th incident I've had with this post office. The other week they left a cardboard box out in the rain, despite the fact that I have a covered porch 2 feet away from where they left it in the grass. They denied having a package at the post office, and refused to go into the back and look for it until I printed out the tracking info and showed it to them (it was there for 2 days, they found it right away, no apology). They keep sending my regular mail to my elderly neighbor who can hardly walk. Twice now, they have left a card in my mailbox saying to come get a box when the box has a large sticker on it that says "If no contact made, leave at address". I am 100% done with this post office, and plan to contact the postmaster. I hope there is some retraining, or staff replacements, because this is getting ridiculous.
Terrible attitudes to go with the terrible service. I'd give no stars if possible. Once a package is delivered it could be days before you receive the little yellow tag that lets you know you can pick it up. For the benefits and pay these people receive, the service should at least be bearable.
I have lived in Campton for 6 years, never had a problem with this post office until they got a new post master a year or so ago. They can never seem to put mail in the correct mailbox at Waterville Estates. I've gotten mail for 4 different people at one time and my mail gets put in the wrong box all the time as well. This is especially frustrating when I'm expecting something I've ordered or a Netflix movie. With Netflix, I then have to wait another week for the replacement movie while someone else is probably watching the original (I have had opened movies left at my door more than once). I'm paying for this service and should be getting my movies on time not 2 weeks late. Other companies have also had to send me replacement items for free, they shouldn't have to lose money because postal carriers can't deliver mail properly.
They are awful! God forbid If you have a po box and someone accidentally puts your home address instead on the bill/letter. YOU WONT GET IT they will send it back. LAZY LAZY LAZY!!!!!!!!!!! No one double checks and no one there gives a hoot! And to make it worse nothing is done about it when you complain! Worst Post Office on the planet
